The first book ever printed in the Ottoman Empire was Arbaah Turim (Four Orders of the Code of Law), written by Jacob ben Asher and published by brothers David and Samuel ibn Nahmias in 1493. Throughout the centuries, Sephardim thrived in the field of printing and publishing liturgical and secular books and newspapers in Hebrew and Ladino. The tradition continues today at Gözlem Kitap, where you can find a wide variety of Hebrew, Turkish, and Ladino publications.
Below is a sampling of featured Ladino works. Click on each book’s image to read more about it. To browse and purchase more books, please visithttp://www.gozlemkitap.com/
